Lock Mechanism

A toughened 4mm hardened steel casing protects the Slimlock lock mechanism. It is anti-lever and tamper-proof.

The lock barrel is a high security rotary or tubular lock, made of strengthened steel and uses a unique anti-pick circular key.

The Patented Lock Design

Lock & Strike

The lock has a revolutionary design (reg no. 3008354 at Patent office).

Rotary / tubular lock barrel

Rotary or tubular locks offer superior protection to inline pin-and-tumbler locks. The pins are not positioned in a single row, but around the circumference of the cylinder plug. This makes the sheer line of the pins invisible and almost impossible to pick. Additionally the pins are modified to behave irregularly - so that it is much harder to get the pins in position to pick.

The positioning of the lock on the casing makes even an attempt to pick the lock technically a very difficult operation.

Completely Encased

Slimlock is completely encased in a 4mm steel housing and the locking bolt is enclosed by a further 4mm steel cylinder. This ensures it is protected by unlawful entry by opportunist thieves and well equipped organized criminals.

The Slimlock mechanism

The integral lock and bolt combination is unique. As the lock key is turned it also releases the catch.

The mechanism is protected behind the oil-blackened steel casing which covers any securing bolts. Slimlocks are designed to prevent metal doors shutting and locking unexpectedly. Correct alignment with the strike jamb ensures the integrity of the lock and the anti-lever design.

The lock has been designed to be tolerant of door and jamb movement as found on shipping and vehicle trailers. It is compliant with IICL standards and can accommodate some flex.
